Strata Solar Announces ‘First Time Right’ Total Quality Management Program in New Video
After two years of design, implementation, and refinement, Strata Solar is unveiling a new total quality management program that embodies the quality and safety culture of the company. ‘First Time Right’ is Strata’s answer to driving a continuous improvement mentality throughout the company.
Initially the program was implemented in the field through a rigorous training program. The program incorporates industry best practices down to the smallest construction details, ensuring that all jobs are done right the first time. As improvements to process and efficiency are developed on one site, those lessons learned are fed back into the training programs across all sites on a real-time basis.
Strata has always been fluid in its ability to adapt in an ever-changing industry. As project sizes have grown and markets have become more competitive, companies need to continuously improve to maintain a competitive edge. At Strata, ‘First Time Right’ transcends from the first engineering drawings, to procurement of the most quality-tested components, to final construction, operations, and maintenance.
In addition to continuously improving processes, ‘First Time Right’ offers its workers professional development opportunities that are unique among the industry. As workers complete training and gain experience, they are able to advance and grow within the company.
“No other solar company is putting this kind of investment toward quality in its business practices,” said Markus Wilhelm, Strata’s founder and CEO. “We’ve learned from experience that it’s more important to avoid fires rather than just put them out.”
