PRESS RELEASE: Strata Solar To Develop Washington State’s Largest Solar Facility
Strata Solar To Develop Washington State’s Largest Solar Facility
Solar Select Program Powered by Avista’s Renewable Energy Green Tariff
(Chapel Hill, NC) – As part of Strata Solar’s strategic expansion to the West Coast to develop and acquire more projects, the company is announcing the development of a 28 MW-DC solar facility in the town of Lind, Washington. This facility will be the largest solar power plant in the state, powering roughly 4,000 average homes annually.
The announcement comes as Strata has been rapidly growing its national footprint to include construction of several other projects in Arizona, New Mexico and California, some with battery storage solutions built into the mix.
The Adams-Neilson solar farm in Lind is part of the Solar Select (TM) program, offered by local utility, Avista, which allows commercial and industrial electric customers to participate in the benefits of solar energy through this centralized solar production facility. Construction will begin in May with a groundbreaking ceremony where the Mayor and other elected officials will commemorate the project and what it means for the community. The system is expected to be operational later this year.
“It’s part of Strata’s mission to bring new, renewable energy sources to our customers,” said Strata’s Chief Development Officer, John Knight. “By partnering with utilities, such as Avista, we will be able to continue to scale and bring more renewable energy solutions online across the country.”
Strata is also actively acquiring new projects to build its portfolio of operating solar assets. Interested parties can contact Strata directly for more information on selling their renewable energy projects.
